Account Management for Travel Agency

I created the design for User Account Management for an established travel agency that specialises in beach package holidays.

Challenge

The travel agency catered mainly for package holidays, however there was no user account functionality. I was tasked with providing a design solution for these features.

I discussed with key stakeholders their specific needs and any specific requirements. It was mostly standard user log-in, and user account management functionality, but with ability to see existing bookings too.

Research

I researched user account and booking features within other similar travel platforms and created basic drafts of the user journey and screens.

I also applied my business and technical knowledge of creating user accounts and login behaviour from my experience with other retailers and ecommerce companies.

User Journey and Process Flows

I mapped out the main process flows for user account creation, login and error handling. I then worked on the layout for the account management dashboard.

Wireframes and Prototypes

I produced draft wireframes of each screen, including where there were any pop-up dialog boxes, defined specific tab behaviour, context menu behaviours and alert messages.

Unexpected Challenges

Adding Quote Details Without Clutter

When presenting the itinerary for a quote it was important to have more information available but without cluttering up the screen. This was achieved by having expandable sections that the user would intuitively realise can be opened without switching screens.
